Matemwe Lodge

I am so glad we went with Matemwe. Barefoot luxury does not begin to describe it - (I didn't wear shoes the whole stay). We were in 1 of 12 private bungalows on the water’s edge. From our arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink served in a coconut (this just set the tone for our island holiday) to our departure (yes tears did flow) we were made to feel welcome and comfortable."

Already planning our return trip

We went snorkelling at Mnemba twice which was superb and also did the private trip which included snorkelling and a beautiful lunch on a private stretch of beach- absolute bliss. All in all, this was one of the best trips we've done and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to all at Matemwe for a brilliant getaway."

Excellent restaurant food and service

The rooms were big, comfortable and clean. We had a good time. This is a place where you can really relax."

Absolutely fabulous

We really enjoyed laying by the nice pool, but there is also a pretty beach. Tides and seaweed however do make it a little less attractive to swim. Activities such as snorkeling around Mnemba Island however truly make up for this."

Incredible

Each chalet is divine, flowers everywhere, coconut on your arrival; nothing is too much for the staff. The sand is like soft flour, the food is fresh, beautifully spiced, varied and delicious. Had such a great time, wish I could stay longer. Luxury."

Brilliant; can't complain about a thing

The mix of reviews on TripAdvisor for Matemwe Lodge were slightly worrying as it seemed to be the same issues popping up very time... No need to worry! When we arrived as the first guests for the season absolutely every little issue had been addressed and rectified effectively."
